Fabric office chairs can be expensive. Instead of buying a new one, why not look for an old chair and cover it again? Look for thrift stores, on fleas or even in the trash bin. You can also add a patterned fabric for extra interest to get the office chair unique. Re-cover pillows of an office chair are a simple project that is good for beginners. Use a powerful new fabric cover to ensure it is durable and will wear the best. This project will take a couple of hours and requires few tools and a little stuffing experience
Remove the screws where the fabric office chairs support is attached to the rolling chair frame. Place the screws in a plastic zipper bag for storage and put the bag aside. Turn the desk seat upside down and remove the screws that secure the seat back to the frame of the chair. Place the screws in the same zipper bag. If the screws do not have all the same, use a piece of masking tape to hold a set of screws together. Fold the band on itself with the screws on the inside and the label.
Measure the seat cushion away from the fabric office chairs. Transfer the mat for the chair pillows to the fabric. Cut the fabric with a scissors to these dimensions. Roll out batten and cut to the same size as the fabric. You should have two pieces of fabric (one for back cover and one for sitting) and two pieces of batting. Wadding is used for new or extra padding, helping to smooth the edges. This helps the fabric lie well over any damaged areas and gives reupholstered bit more finished appearance.
