Tufted office chair – Not only can reupholstering a dining chair extend its life, but it can give your dining room a new and up-to-date design without having to buy a new set of dining chairs. One of the most important things to note when reupholstering a dining chair is to find the right fabric and pillow appropriately to that chair. Contact your local craft shop on suggestion of the best fabrics and pillows to use on your chair.
Examine the tufted office chair carefully; note the details of the chair as the fabric that covers the seat and any ornaments that adorn the chair. Look to see how the fabric can be remove. Note whether the fabric and decorations are sewn, glued or staple together. Remove the pillow from the chair (if detachable). Tie the fabric away from the seat. Use staple removal or scissors for a mild fabric removal process. Remove all buttons or decorations by hand and place them in a container so that they will not get lost.
Measure the dimensions of the seat with a tape measure. Measure the fabric. Add another two inches on each side of the fabric to fit well under the seat pad. Consider repurchasing a foam pad to go under the new fabric if it is tired. Use only the length and width of the tufted office chair to select a suitable foam size. Apply the foam pad to the chair first. Trim down any excess material with a toothed knife to make it fit. Cover the seat temporarily with the new fabric — make sure it is tightly over and under the pillow. Use sharp sheers to trim it to size as needed.
